Background

Born under undesirable circumstances to Blaise Episternest, an exiled Faerie Queen, and Old Nick, a half-human, half-Neanderthal, Merlin carried a rare fusion of three bloodlines. Raised by his mother and his master Blaze, he mastered the fundamentals of faerie magic from an early age and nurtured a relentless curiosity for the craft. A brief quest to Earth brought him to Camelot and its surrounding lands, sparking his fascination in the mortal world.

Training
Although Blaze’s teachings gave him a strong foundation, Merlin knew such power had never been adapted for humans or Neanderthals and limited his abilities. Seeking greater mastery, he later apprenticed under his father, spending centuries blending fae creation magic with his mixed heritage. This work culminated in a treatise enabling both species to wield the New Gods’ magic—a text that became the cornerstone of his training for the Ladies of the Lake.
