Personality
Clayven is defined by an unshakable devotion to his son, Raven, a priority that eclipses all other loyalties. His choices reflect a father who weighs morality against survival, almost always choosing the latter when protection is at stake. Even in moments of peace, he carries the quiet weight of past traumas and the decisions. Though often composed, when pushed, his fury is as relentless as the ice he commands.
Background
Clayven was born in the United States around 19XX and became a skilled mountaineer, conquering many of the world’s highest peaks before attempting K2 (Mount Godwin-Austen). While climbing with four friends, a sudden blizzard forced them to take shelter in a cave. Sadly, an avalanche swept away Kevin and Yang before reaching safety.
Trapped inside, Clayven and John searched separately for another exit. When John’s screams echoed through the tunnels, Clayven followed his tracks and found him being mauled by two adult snow leopards. He killed the predators, sustaining minor wounds, and put his friend out of his misery through a knife to the heart. Clayven spared the three snow leopard cubs, but with no food or supplies, he weakened, starved, and eventually froze to death.
In Afterworld, his conquest granted him the ability to control and form ice. He also trained in sword and dagger combat under Dobrynya Nikitich, ruler of the Cobalt Mountains. During this time, Clayven met Riza, a witch descended from Merlin’s earthly clan. They married and had a son, Raven.
When humanity fell in the war against Servian, the Dark Creator, Clayven lost Riza and—threatened with Raven’s death—abandoned the fight. He wandered with his son, gathering followers, and seized the deserted Cobalt Mountains as his own. After saving a man named Dane from the Blooming Apostates, Clayven had his memories of Riza erased to harden himself and suppress his Delta-level abilities so as not to be culled by the Dark Gods. He ruled with ruthless pragmatism under the title of the Frozen King, doing everything for his son's sake, even trafficking humans to other kingdoms and the Dark Gods.
His reign ended when a hunter of his, Vance, captured Leon, who was pursued by Ragnarr and Dobrynya on the goddess Fate’s orders. The pursuit culminated in a battle against the demigod Remmy, during which Dane restored his memories, and then Clayven and the survivors were taken to Salutis, the Resistance’s stronghold, to stand trial. He remains there under Dobrynya’s watch.
