Good morning, afternoon, evening–whatever it may be where you are. I’ve been having a hectic and odd month for many reasons. I want you to know that things are looking to be mostly on track. To give you an idea of where I’m at, I’m about to begin chapter 6 on the audiobook.

Let’s get the bad news out of the way first. So, chapter 5 is mostly done, but I need to get a new voice actor for a small part as the actor herself wasn’t bad, really, but the audio was a disaster. I noticed to some extent beforehand and asked her to redo it, and it came out a lot better. However, her mic had a strong squelch that, for some reason, I missed before getting these new headphones that are designed for and used for audio editing. I’m quite sad about it, honestly, but at least it was just a small part. I’m out here doing my best to get this out to you all.

I’m actually really looking forward to the day that I can show it to each of you; however, while I think I’ll be able to squeeze out all the edits on my side by the end of May, I’m not sure the audiobook will be released until early June. This is due to just how much work I’ve had to put into sound editing if it doesn’t cause me to go crazy first. If everyone had perfect audio, I’d be beyond fine, but it’s just not the case here and is the difficulty when working with multiple people with different equipment and environments.

Now, for the good news. The paperback, and therefore the ebook will both be out by the end of the month. This includes a completly new edit by an editor that I enjoy working with. They have already begun to work on it. Then, there is the new cover! (You may have noticed this above). I know many people actually enjoyed my cover for this book that I did myself, but I wanted it to be the absolute best, and therefore I went ahead and hired out so that the new edit has a face of its own. I’m not really wanting to call this a second edition, as the story isn’t really changing you’re just going to get a bit more information and context around certain scenes, but it will be a strong revised edition.

So that’s about all I had to say. I’m still working hard on this, and most days, this is what is occupying me. Afterworld has a new cover as well, and if you want to check it out before I do an official reveal on it in the coming months, then head over to Afterworld’s book page.

If you’ve made it this far, and are one of those that have been waiting on the Audiobook, go ahead and contact me using the contact page and I’ll make sure to give you a $5 discount on its release. (This offer is valid up until the end of the first week after its release).

I think that’s about all I can say as for The Ripper. I haven’t done much writing; lately, I did write a single poem that maybe I’ll put out there one day. I’m thinking about doing a little writing on The Desperado’s Tale tonight. The story is itching to get out into the world. It’s a travesty that I have had to spend so much time on the audio aspects instead of writing.

Anyways, I think that’s about all I have to say. Sorry about the delays. Be sure to check back next month, and as always, stay posted!
