It’s been a bit since I’ve updated and I don’t really have an excuse. I guess the only thing I can say is that I had little to say since the new year. The Ripper’s Audiobook is getting closer to completion, and I just finished hiring the extras for that which were three people with brief lines in the Epilogue. I think they all did a wonderful job! The only lines I’m really missing now are for The Desperado and for the Announcer. The trailer for the audiobook I’ve put on the website early. So if you want to check it out before I advertise with it, click above or head over to The Ripper’s book page and you’ll find it. It’s unlisted currently, as it’s meant to drive preorder sales, but unfortunately Publish Drive won’t let me list it as a Preorder until it’s in a finished state (which kind of defeats the preorder purpose in a way) but anyway!

I was going to make this blog into a review of a couple books, but instead of going through all that I’ll just say if you want to check out my reviews for Stephen King’s The Stand, or Neil Gaiman’s American Gods. Click either title and you’ll get over to my Goodreads’s reviews. What I will say here is that I found them similar in architecture, that they were slow burns (very slow burns) of fantasy mixed with a pseudo-reality. The audiobook for American Gods was over 20 hours, and The Stand was 1153 pages of 7-8pt font. One turned out to be worth the wait (although a bit of a drag in one section), the other turned out to be disappointing for me. I’ll let you read my reviews to learn more.

Finally, I want to bring up the terrible ordeal going on with Ukraine and Russia. I don’t pretend to be an expert, but what is happening is tragic and should have never taken place. To the citizens of both nations, I wish you and your loved ones well. I think we would all do well to reflect on this and be reminded of how precious life is, and how fast it can be gone. I’ve had the pleasure of working with very talented individuals in the region. The man who put together the outstanding audiobook trailer is from Belarus, and Oleg Beloded, the artist who has done a wonderful job on the cover art for Afterworld, The Ripper, and The Desperado’s Tale is from Ukraine. I only hope this needless violence is ended swiftly so that everyone can get back to enjoying life and doing what they love.
